Ford VR (Reality Check)

This project was for Ford and was named Reality Check, and its aim was to increase the awareness of how much attention you pay to the road when you are trying to use your phone while driving.

The application would run on the Gear Vr, which had only just come out at the time. The application was similar to an endless runner, in the way that the level would be generated around the user and scroll past them although the user had no control over staring the car. 

 

My task was to generate the environment at runtime, build the scripted events that would happen as the car drove along,  implemented the animated models of the passengers in the car and their dialog.

While the environment scrolled past the use, they would be prompted by text messages and face time events via their phone. Upon reacting to each prompt a new world event would trigger. The experience was a linear one and had an ending were the user crashes, after that their are taken to court room where a narrative scene place.
